The theoretical (classroom) learning outcomes will be achieved through an online learning management system which is a combination of video modules and a quiz. Upon successful completion of the online portion, the course participant is then eligible to attend on-site training.
During the theory component, attendees will review the regulatory requirements for fall protection, the most common hazards and types of fall protection equipment utilized by industry. In addition, "Basic Fall Protection" meets the CAPP guidelines for offshore workers.
A review of the uses and limitations of the following equipment will be conducted: Anchors and anchor selection, Full body harness including donning procedures, Lanyards, Shock absorbers, and calculating total fall distance, Self-retracting lifelines, and Connecting components
